CSI-IPT Safety Engineer(s)

The roleAs part of our Maritime group, the CSI-IPT Safety Engineer will responsible for ensuring that Program Safety activities are undertaken in accordance with the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP). Duties will include conducting safety analyses, managing the CSI Hazard Log, the preparation and update of safety artefacts and attendance at safety meetings. Further, the successful candidate will:Prepare agendas and minutes for safety meetings such as System Safety Working GroupsConduct analysis activities to identify Safety and Environmental risks emergent from the Combat System design generally in accordance with MIL-STD 882E, including preparation of. Preliminary Hazard Identification (PHI) and Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA).Functional Failure Analysis (FFA)System and Subsystem Safety Hazard Analysis (SHA and SSHA)Operating and Support Hazard Analysis (OSHA)Health Hazard Assessment (HHA)Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP) / Software Hazard Analysis and Resolution in Design (SHARD) Analysis conducted on identified Safety-Significant FunctionsPrepare and update Safety artefacts including Safety Case Report (SCR), System Safety Program Plan (SSPP), Hazard Analysis Report (HAR), Hazard Log (HL).Update and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Update and manage the DDG CSI Hazard Log, Problematic Substance Log and other data bases in DOORS and ExcelPreparation of safety metrics Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role. About youYour skills and experience will include:Exposure to System Safety and its application to Maritime and/or complex defence acquisition programs.Experience applying safety risk management principlesProficient in MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Understanding of WHS Act and Regulations and how they relate to System Safety including a knowledge of the concept of SFARP (desirable)Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, including requirements, integration, verification, and acceptance (desirable)Understanding/experience with MIL-STD 882E (desirable) As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
