The key duties of the position include Your Role The Deputy ICT Security Technologist will operate within the AFTRSQN framework and report directly to the APS6 ICT Security Technologist. Key role responsibilities will focus on: Providing input to project and trial planning by contributing to development of solutions to cyber security issues; Assist in investigation of cyber security vulnerabilities, and assess the risk to stakeholders' systems and recommend mitigating strategies through research, analysis and reporting; Manage/handle classified material and data IAW extant policy and procedures to support secure operation of the Woomera Test Range mission system; Conduct duties of the Information Technology Security Officer (ITSO) including assisting in development of trials specific communications, data management, data flows and system integration plans; Support system operation and range activities at Woomera periodically; and Assist in SQN ICT asset management, including portable mission system planning devices. Our Team AFTRSQN provides a safe, secure and controlled Instrumented 'Advanced Training and Test Environment' (ATTE) in support of whole-of-Government directed activities, testing of war material and Raise Train Sustain activities to support Force Generation for the Australian Defence Force, our allies and foreign partners. The team works directly with Range Users and other stakeholders to develop and execute the test environment, including planning, execution and oversight to ensure efficient use of resources to provide a level of range support and instrumentation that best meets customer expectations, integrity of the test environment and compliance with relevant policy. Our Ideal Candidate To be considered for this role you will need to hold a minimum NV1 security clearance . We are seeking a strong communicator with Defence and ICT experience that can work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver diverse ICT security effects. Our successful candidate will display: A good understanding of Defence security policy, and application of security controls; Strong written and oral communication skills to relay complex information effectively and coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders; Well-developed planning and problem solving skills and able to apply sound judgement; A working knowledge of networks, systems and data links used across Defence; and Experience with security risk management, including risk identification, mitigation, registers and strategies.
