About Language Services Language Services provides interpreting services during working hours at the Women's Hospital. About the role This position is responsible for providing interpreting services in Vietnamese to women, furthermore, the position involves participating in the development of services for women of culturally and linguistically diverse CALD backgrounds as a team member and in consultation with RWH clinics and departments of the Women's. Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following: Interpret in NAATI certified Vietnamese language for women and their families Translate brief messages (non-clinical) and/or check translations if required Create a safe cultural space for women and families receiving care, so that they can communicate naturally about their health and wellbeing Contribute to a high performing team of interpreters Collect data for bookings and enter statistics accurately and in a timely way Provide administrative assistance to support the team as requested Participate in own professional development activities Contribute to improving the safety and quality of services for women with a CALD background at the Women's. About you To be successful within this role you will need to have: Appropriate Tertiary Qualification and NAATI Interpreter certification (previously Level 3) High level of computer literacy and skillsfor electronic medical records, search engines, data collect systems and platforms, telehealth, video confencing, and Microsoft office 365 Demonstrated experience in health interpreting and understanding of health contexts for women and newborns Experience with working with women and families of newborns is highly desirable Skill in interpreting in an additional language is highly desirable.
